A system for building your leverage, piece by piece.

The LL Planner is a simple distillation of a method for;

  • building more leverage into your life
  • generating potential product opportunities.

How to use the LL Planner to increase your leverage

At the beginning of the week, place a fresh planner on your desk.

It will serve as a reminder t.

You will find having the planner next to you all day prompts you to fill the 8 boxes along the top with repetitive or time-draining tasks that reveal themselves.

Once you have identified a handful of good areas for improvement. Choose the one that most energizes you. Then brainstorm size ideas for solutions to address the leverage opportunities.

Review the ideas and pick your favorite.

Then the most important part.

Calculate the time value you will get back if you proceed and create the proposed system/solution. Remember that even the smallest gains will build up over time.

For maximum motivation, it's good to calculate the time saving over a year and even multiply by the number of people positively affected by the improvement (if you work in a team it might apply to more than just you).

How to use the LL Planner to discover market opportunities

For budding producers who, like me, struggle with settling on ideas for products, I have a simple strategy to use with the LL Planner.

The strategy is exactly as laid out above, with one difference.

Instead of using it to improve your leverage at work (), use it while you attempt something more common to the general public.

For example;

At the moment I am learning about sales, marketing & building a network on Twitter.

For illustration, let's take the latter: Building a network on Twitter.

Because I am attempting this task, I am doing all sorts of things; writing tweets, planning threads, looking for content ideas, doing tweet PR, engaging with large accounts, engaging with my own followers.

Enjoyable as they are - these are the jobs to be done.

And with jobs to be done, there are ways to do them more efficiently

3 market opportunities I discovered using the LL Planner

Notion Thread Drafter

Inefficiency: you draft threads in word doc, then transfer them to Twitter and rewrite them to fit into the allowed character count.

Solution: Produce the thread in this "Thread Drafter" table one time, then transfer it once.

Here's a demo:

The other two are more involved and just concepts right now;

Topic Thunder

Inefficiency: An important part of building an audience on Twitter is engaging with / replying to "big accounts" on topics that match your niche & you can add some value to.

While enjoyable, this can be a time-intensive task to carry out consistently.

Solution Idea: without giving away the IP I'll just say the idea is to build a small app that helps with this task.

Tweet Wave

Inefficiency: in building an audience you want engagement, but you can waste a lot of good energy tweeting when none of your networks are around/able to engage.

Solution Idea: An app to somehow measure the ideal tweet time based on your immediate network's engagement temperature.
